Caleb Rossello-Rengifo started his journey in interpreting at Columbus State Community College while studying plant sciences. He was required to take a foreign language and decided to take ASL and immediately fell in love with the language and culture.
From 2019-2024, he worked with Deaf and Hard of Hearing teens through mentoring programs and in school support. Upon completion of his associates at Columbus State Community College, he continued to work with these teens and has interpreted in a variety of settings since 2023.
A lot of Caleb’s career has been working within the DeafBlind world working alongside DeafBlind students and professionals. Caleb has experience interpreting in medical settings, post-secondary education, government, artistic interpreting, travel-related interpreting and religious services.
Caleb is invested in continuing to be a support to the DeafBlind community and has pursued mentorship from DeafBlind individuals and other interpreters that have experience in the DeafBlind setting. He values continued growth through workshops, mentoring and continued education at Wright State University. He plans to continue his education post graduation. Caleb has passed the CASLI written Generalist Knowledge and Ethics exams and plans to take the Performance exam upon completion of his bachelors degree.
